Day 5 and 6- we are exhausted

We finished up at priority one missions yesterday, and headed to the Bowery after lunch. We took a few wrongs turns, but finally arrived around 3pm. We know it's hot back home, but just imagine lugging all your belongings down the street of NYC for numerous blocks to look up and see a sign that it's 104 degrees. We made it to the Bowery mission though ready to serve- even if a little tired and sweaty.

Day-6 has been a full work day. Many of us had to get up at 5:30am to start serving breakfast. Another group started getting ready shortly after to load up a truck with tons of produce, bread, sandwiches, and homemade soup that had been donated. We headed down to a park several blocks away to set-up an community outreach food center. People are given soup and sandwiches to eat, then allowed to shop through the fresh produce and bread. A very humbling experience for us all. We all arrived back at the Bowery in time to share lunch with the students here. The students here are in a program to get them off the streets, and give them food for the body and spirit. We've all made new friends and have enjoyed listening to these men share their stories. We also got the opportunity to lead the chapel service this afternoon. Such a great experience for us all. Blessing to all... NYC trib3
